The Centre for Sport and Recreation are offering you the opportunity to learn, practice and develop your skills and technique in weightlifting e.g. squats, deadlift, pressing, clean and jerk and snatch, under the supervision and guidance of fitness professional. Scientific studies have shown weightlifting can not only help develop muscle strength and power, but can also help reduce body fat percentage and increase your metabolism (the body’s ability to breakdown and process calories). Don’t worry if you have never tried weightlifting previously, as no experience is required, however, some may be helpful.
