Target Audience: Departmental Administrators

This course will be highly relevant to you if you have an active role as a Departmental Administrator of the Supplementary Payments System (Student Payments, Undertaken Duties) or are a Work Requestor for these types of engagement.  It is recommended strongly that all Administrators attend one of the sessions.

In summer 2017, there will be fundamental changes made to the Supplementary Payments System, which will necessarily affect the process for all users and all claims.  The changes will mean that:

·         every piece of work undertaken will require an Assignment to be created, prior to the work being done;

·         claim forms will become much simpler (because more details will be captured at Assignment stage);

·         more people engaging in work will be processed through the updated system;

·         the capture of individuals’ details will be streamlined, to avoid duplication of effort.

Examples of the final point include the introduction of an optional web form, to collect personal details directly from the Assignee (removing data entry and reducing the challenges posed by handwritten forms), and a more joined-up process for granting appropriate IT access, when required.

By the end of the session we will have:

  • discussed the aims of the project
  • explained what has/ has not been in scope (and why)
  • demonstrated a walk-through of the system changes and screens
