Target Audience: Staff approaching retirement (55+ although staff aged 50+ are welcome to attend)
These Pre-Retirement Sessions are aimed at employees who are approaching retirement (55-year-olds and above, although staff aged 50+ are welcome to attend) and are being deliver by Mercers (pension advisers).
The workshop will cover:
- How normal retirement works – including the calculation of the member’s benefit and how to apply for it.
- Options available for cash lump sum and pension at retirement – including examples of how this can work.
- How early retirement works - including the calculation of the member’s benefit and how to apply for it
- Flexible retirement and how that works
- Further options that are available when members retire.
- State pension – state pension age changes and how the state benefit will be calculated
