As part of the University‘s Wellbeing initiative Occupational Health Service are encouraging you to come and get your blood pressure checked. It is important to know your blood pressure numbers and take the necessary action to reach and maintain a healthy blood pressure. One in 3 adults in the UK have high blood pressure (hypertension) and many do not realise it. High blood pressure rarely has noticeable symptoms but if untreated it increases the risk of serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes. The good news is that there are many ways in which you can lower your blood pressure and put less strain on your arteries and heart.

The only way to find out if your blood pressure is high is to have your blood pressure checked.  Sessions will be held on Wednesday 12 September at the Occupational Health Service.
