Target Audience: Those most directly involved in supporting student transitions into University learning.

Four UG student Interns worked on a project over the summer looking at Student Transitions into Higher Education. Thank you to those who helped guided and supported them during that time. They would like to share their findings with you and we are keen to have a broader discussion about how the university takes those messages and recommendations forward. Therefore, we invite you to a workshop on Thursday 8 January 2015 at 13.30. in Rooms 227 a/b, the Lord Hope Building. The workshop will start with a buffet lunch and end at 16.30.

We are inviting those who helped or supported the project over the summer and those who are most directly involved in supporting student transitions into university learning, such as Directors of Teaching, First Year Teachers, PG Tutors, First Year Co-ordinators, the Widening Access Team Admission staff, Advisers of Studies, Personal Development Advisers, Recruitment and International staff, Faculty Managers, Learner Support staff including the Library, Education Enhancement , Careers and Employability staff, USSA and many others.

Student Transitions is the new QAA Enhancement Theme for 2014-17* We look forward to seeing you on 8 January 2015.

The workshop will:

  • share the findings of a Student Intern Project on Student Transitions into Higher Education
  • outline Key Messages and Recommendations for the university to take forward
  • give participants an opportunity to find out more about the project and the new QAA Enhancement Theme of Student Transitions and hear from the Steering Group about activity so far
  • enable discussion on how we can `translate` those messages and recommendations into actions.
