The University recognises the requirement of the Ionising Radiation Regulations 1999 (IRR99) to appoint suitable persons to ensure the health and safety of those in their departments from the effects of Ionising Radiations. The Departmental Radiation Protection Supervisor is a point of contact within the department who is responsible for supervising the departmental arrangements for work using devices that emit X-Rays. This training will give them the information required to carry out this role.
The training will cover:
- The administrative processes required to ensure compliance
- The safety aspects of using these devices
- General actions to be taken in an emergency
- Other relevant topics
