  • How to analyse and export information
  • How to stay up to date: create lists and set alerts
  • Using advanced search techniques -not every database is the same

Journal metrics in Scopus:

  • How to compare journals – IF / SNIP/ SJR/ IPP
  • How to find the right journal to read of publish your paper in

Author Search and ORCID:

  • How to clean up your Author profile and why is this important – H-index
  • How to find future collaborators and who are your biggest competitors on your topic
  • How to connect your Author profile to ORCID

Affiliation Search:

  • Which other institutions are working in the same area and might be candidates     for  future collaboration

Prerequisites

This course assumes that you have beginner level IT skills, i.e. that you can use a mouse and keyboard and that you are confident with basic formatting, e.g. changing font, cutting and pasting, and saving files. A minimum number of three attendees is required for the course to run. Attendees will be notified two days in advance by email of any course cancellation.
