Target Audience: Academic Staff, Probationery Staff

As we endeavour to increase our PGR population and ensure completions within 4 years of study, Dr Emma Compton-Daw from the Organisational and Staff Development Unit (OSDU) team will provide an overview of the training opportunities and modes of delivery currently available to Strathclyde staff.

The aim of this session is for staff to consider their training needs and to select the most suited route to become either a first or second supervisor, or to refresh their knowledge.

SBS has been moving towards a supervisory team model, sometimes with a less experienced first supervisor supported by a very experienced second supervisor. This session will help to identify supervisor training requirements across SBS, and to consider whether further be-spoke training might be necessary, to accommodate the needs of the Faculty.

Delivered By: Emma Compton-Daw, Academic Development Lead (Research)

Prerequisites

Current or prospective supervisors of PGR students.
