Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Staff
The event will feature short presentations from six projects exploring new ways of supporting students’ transitions through their programmes. These projects, based in different parts of the University and involving students as research interns, were chosen because they address issues that occur widely. Case studies and other resources produced by the projects will be made available prior to the event. Staff and students involved in the following six projects will present their findings:
- Commuting to placement for Speech and Language Therapy students
- Supporting care-leavers at Strathclyde
- Transitioning the year abroad for language students: Before/during/after
- Internships in Civil Engineering
- Internships and placements in the Engineering Academy
- Internships and placements in the Faculty of Science
There will also be a chance to find out more about ‘We are Strathclyde’, the new online course offered for the first time in the summer of 2016 to all incoming undergraduate students to help make their arrival at the University smoother.
There will be information about further funding available to explore issues around student transitions in 2016-17.
Lunch, tea and coffee will be available from 12.30.
