Target Audience: Postgraduate Research Students in their 2nd and 3rd year

This programme has been exclusively tailored for University of Strathclyde PhD students to enable them to develop the skills and networks they need to succeed in careers following their PhD. 

Throughout the programme, participants will go off-campus and explore leadership in action, engaging in challenging discussions with senior leaders from across Glasgow and visiting organisations across different sectors to tackle their real-life challenges.

By the end of the programme participants will have:

  • Built the vision, skills and confidence to be an effective leader in society
  • Gained a first-hand insight into real life organisational challenges and how to tackle them
  • Gained a greater knowledge of how power works, how decisions are made and how change can be brought about
  • Developed self-awareness, an understanding of leadership in practice and practical skills to aid their future careers
  • Developed their ability to work with a diverse range of people.

PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).

You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).

Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
