For AFRC personnel involved in medium to high risk manual handling activities, either on a regular or occasional basis. e.g. engineering staff. It is also suitable for those persons who require refresher training , which is recommended every 3 years.

Participation on this course is recommended in order that the AFRC can demonstrate best practice with regard to the provision of information and training for its staff. This will in turn help to reduce manual handling risks and enable the AFRC to comply with manual handling legislation.

Aim of training:

  • To raise awareness of good back care.
  • To provide knowledge of the risks associated with manual handling.
  • To demonstrate ergonomic techniques for safe handling.
  • To provide skills to ensure that risk controls strategies are appropriate.
