We are delighted to be able to screen James Redford’s acclaimed documentary as part of Wellbeing Week. This one-hour documentary, directed and produced by Robert Redford’s son, James, delves into the science behind how extreme or prolonged stressful experience in childhood can affect brain development, leading to health and social problems across the lifespan. This is now recognised to be a leading cause of many physical, mental and social issues.
The Scottish government want to ensure that we become a trauma informed nation able to address and understand the long-term effects of 'Adverse Childhood Experiences' ( ACEs)
This screening will be followed by a panel discussion, exploring what we can all do to offer support and gain better insight.
