Target Audience: Academics looking to get information and ideas across to a range of audiences through recorded video.

Success on Screen

Whether it’s a Zoom meeting or chat, an online presentation, lecture, pitch, TED talk or interview – we’re all needing to adapt to appearing on screen. it’s more vital than ever to understand the unique requirements and potential of video calls, distance collaboration and online teamworking.

This course will boost your confidence, clarity and effectiveness on screen, enabling you to engage diverse audiences. We’ll look at mastering the technique of video and audio appearances; and explore practical ways to manage nerves and find a physical and vocal style on screen that is natural to you and impressive to those watching and listening.

VOX’s expert, practical training transform’s people’s ability to hold audiences’ attention and do justice to their subject matter and expertise. Many of the skills you acquire and develop will be readily transferable to other, off-camera contexts.

After the course, you’ll be able to get access to a course summary, follow-up material and the VOX Academy – an online repository of written guidance, lively videos and other resources to help you extend your learning and take your communication skills to the next level.

Cancellation Policy

When applying for a course, you should note that there will be a £50* to your department if you cancel within 5** working days or you do not attend, and a £25 charge for cancellations/ non-attendance between 6 and 10 working days. There will be no charge for cancellation made 10 or more working days before the event. Notifications should be made to OSDU@strath.ac.uk

A department is welcome to send someone else in your place if they wish without incurring a charge, providing that person has the necessary pre-requisites for the course. In the case of courses split over more than one day, you must attend ALL parts of the course. If you fail to attend any part you will be charged as outlined above.

*This is the standard charge for cancellation or non-attendance of course of 1 days duration or less. For some courses there may be a higher cancellation charge and if this is the case you will be advised of this at the time of booking.

**Any bookings made within 10 days of the event will incur the charges as specified.
