Target Audience: LIR staff
Can playing a board game be a useful tool for teaching students and staff about the impact of publishing and scholarly communication?
In this session, we will assess The Publishing Trap, an open access board game that is "designed to teach researchers, academics, doctoral students, librarians and other professionals in higher education about the impact of publishing and scholarly communications choices they make throughout their career". We will play the game and assess how it might fit into existing training programmes. How easy would it be to run the game, is it an effective learning tool, and would you be happy to offer it as part of your training?
