Target Audience: Academic staff members in Faculty of Science

A mock grant panel is an opportunity to gain an insight into the peer review process used by EPSRC, and to get experience in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of real grant proposals. The panel aims to replicate as far as possible the processes which take place in a real EPSRC prioritisation panel.  In participating in a mock grant panel, attendees should understand the function of the panel (as distinct from peer review) better, resulting in improved grant applications.

Attendees at this session will need to complete pre work similar to a real panel member: you will be given previous grant applications to read and score prior to the session itself.  This will be distributed not less than 2 weeks prior to the session itself.

Attendees will be organised into mock panels according to their discipline background, reflecting EPSRC prioritisation panels themselves.

The session will be led by ESPRC Regional Manager Dr Derek Craig with additional senior researchers providing support on the day.

This is a one-off event, there is no wait list but is linked to;
