Target Audience: Teaching and Admin Staff

This interactive session will introduce the pedagogical considerations that should underpin the use and design of quizzes as both formative and summative active learning tools. Particular attention will be paid to question and answer design, whilst practical supervised experience of setting up and configuring a short quiz using pre-prepared questions will complement the discussion and demonstration of the most accessible question types. The session will also signpost students to support available for more advanced autonomous use of this key learning tool.

Participants will be able to:

·         Recognise the pedagogical benefits and applicability of quizzes and question types across key teaching and administrative contexts

·         Understand what is expected in terms of sound and meaningful question and answer design

·         Set up and configure a MyPlace quiz comprising several accessible question types
