Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Teaching and Administrative Staff
This session will focus on a pragmatic approach to adapting and planning courses using a blended learning model with consideration for quality, flexibility and safety.
Blended Learning is a way to enhance your face to face classes and can allow you to more effectively use on-campus lecture and seminar time. It has also been shown to increase student retention, engagement and motivation.
A robust Blended Learning class requires planning and preparation in advance of the delivery of the first of the classes. An outline of a week of your class can be broken down into a written planner to identify ways in which your class can be adapted. This approach has been used in programmes such as the Graduate Apprenticeships.
The session will also signpost additional help and support for learning design.
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the motivation for blended learning
- Consider how blended learning can work in different contexts
- Plan courses using suggested strategies
- Explore options for designing a blended experience
- Access further training and support
