Is this course right for me?

Target Audience: This is mandatory for all ‘Red Card applicants’, ‘lone workers’ and all staff working on University premises.

The course will provide comprehensive information, guidance, and advice on what actions to take in the event of a fire and how to evacuate the building safely.

All workers will be provided with sufficient information, instruction, and guidance to ensure that they can adopt the correct actions in the event of a fire and an emergency evacuation scenario.

Prerequisites

Prior to undertaking the training courses, staff and post-graduates are required to familiarise themselves with the OHS Fire Safety Standard.

Refresher training
Cleaners should undertake this training as part of their induction arrangements.
Red Card’ applicants should undertake this training prior to being issued a ‘Red Card’.
All other persons deemed to be ‘lone workers’ should undertake this training as soon as they take up the role.
Refresher training should be carried out at least every three years thereafter.
