Target Audience: Academic Staff and all others acting as managers for members of Research Staff
In this set of focus groups, we’d like to hear from Managers of Researchers, i.e. those acting as line managers to Research Staff, about the work culture, employment and career development for researchers. The sessions’ aims are to discuss possible challenges and areas where you need support as managers.
This event is organised in the context of the Researcher Development Concordat, which Strathclyde has committed to implement. The Concordat is a list of obligations aiming to improve the employment and support for researchers and researcher careers in higher education in the UK. It targets four main stakeholder groups involved in academic research, including institutions, funders, researchers and managers of researchers.
Each of the three focus groups will be centred around a specific principle of the Concordat:
Session 1 (20th Jan 2021): research environment and culture
Session 2 (21st Jan 2021): researcher employment
Session 3 (26th Jan 2021): professional and career development
If you are unsure whether the aims of this focus group apply to you or have any other questions about the consultation, please contact Maria Weikum (maria.weikum@strath.ac.uk).
As it will be essential for the focus groups to include a diverse range of participants, please note that we will confirm participation with all registrants nearer to the event dates.
