Over many years’ experience delivering to PGRs across Europe, Fistral has developed provision aimed at 1st year PhDs to help start the challenging early years of a doctoral degree with confidence and supported by a toolbox of tools and techniques. Our Kick-Off Your PhD provision is separated into two themes:
  1. 'Managing Yourself'; and
  2. 'Managing Your Project'
Centred on a programme of training videos and accompanying participant workbook, the tools and techniques provided can really make a difference in the early stages of your PhD - as well as providing skills, tools and techniques for longer term research roles. Topics include settings goals, managing expectations, using your time effectively, avoiding procrastination, managing supervision relationships and a lot more: and all contextualised for PhDs.

Should you have any questions about the content of the videos or application of your learning feel free to email Dr Fraser Robertson (fraser@fistraltraining.com) or Dr Rosie Doyle (rosie@fistraltraining.com) directly. Fraser leads on the Project Management elements and Rosie leads on the interpersonal topics.
