Target Audience: First Line Managers responsible for Supervising Staff

 ** All prospective participants should attend an information session prior to joining the programme.  The information session is bookable via the on-line booking system

The purpose of the programme is to equip first level line managers with the necessary skill for supervising staff.  It has been designed to support the standards as described in both the Strathclyde Job Level Descriptors and Strathclyde Leadership Competencies and Behaviours Frameworks, and fully mapped to level 3 in the Institute of Leadership and Management qualification.

In order to get maximum benefit from the Leadership Programme, you must attend all of the modules in sequence. Please check the dates in the whole series to ensure you can attend all of the sessions in the programme


The programme will run over 6 months and will include 7 workshops. The 7 facilitated sessions are:

 

  • What is Leadership
  • Communication in the Workplace
  • Managing Conflict in the Workplaec
  • Motivation to Improve Performance
  • Supporting your Team Through Change
  • Delegating Authority in the Workplace
  • Establishing an Effective Team

This programme will run over 6 months - please check the dates of each session to ensure that you can attend all 7 modules in the programme.

Prerequisites

**You must take part in an information session prior to joining the full programme. This session is available to book through this booking system.

Cancellation Policy

When applying for a course, you should note that there will be a £50* to your department if you cancel within 5** working days or you do not attend, and a £25 charge for cancellations/ non-attendance between 6 and 10 working days. There will be no charge for cancellation made 10 or more working days before the event. Notifications should be made to OSDU@strath.ac.uk

A department is welcome to send someone else in your place if they wish without incurring a charge, providing that person has the necessary pre-requisites for the course. In the case of courses split over more than one day, you must attend ALL parts of the course. If you fail to attend any part you will be charged as outlined above.

*This is the standard charge for cancellation or non-attendance of course of 1 days duration or less. For some courses there may be a higher cancellation charge and if this is the case you will be advised of this at the time of booking.

**Any bookings made within 10 days of the event will incur the charges as specified.
