Target Audience: Participants of the Leadership in Learning and Teaching Network

Workshop 2 will combine Team leadership and wellbeing as they address softer aspects of leadership and development 

  • Team Leadership, change leadership, skills and development 
  • Leadership in online environments 
  • Developing self – how do you develop yourself 
  • Review Team Leadership Models and explore how you might apply these to others’ and to own skill development 
  • Wellbeing for Leader; wellbeing as a team endeavour 

 

Participants are invited to submit short, (5 lines max) mini case studies raising issues, examples and challenges for leading without authority, team leadership and wellbeing. These will provide a basis for discussion, reflection and shape the events. Case Studies/Issues to be sent to ruth.pilkington1@btinternet.com by Start August (Monday 2nd August). 

Course delivered by Prof. Ruth Pilkington 

Dr Ruth Pilkington (NTF; SFSEDA; PFHEA) is a National Teaching Fellow (2014) with an established background in CPD and professional learning. She works as an educational consultant supporting institutions with NTF applications, academic leadership, dialogue and HE Fellowship.  She is Visiting Professor at University of Ulster and consultant and accreditor for Advance-HE.  Her research interests include the use of dialogue in supporting and assessing professional learning, pedagogic research, and the development of professional doctoral knowledge.  More recently she has been exploring how to enhance wellbeing for HE academics and mindfulness. Ruth designed resources for Advance-HE on SFHEA/PFHEA applications, and CPD, as well as developing a Fellowships Dialogue Toolkit. She produced reviews of Annual CPD Scheme Monitoring Reports for the HEA in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and has expertise in evaluating impact and excellence. 

 

Cancellation Policy

When applying for a course, you should note that there will be a £50* to your department if you cancel within 5** working days or you do not attend, and a £25 charge for cancellations/ non-attendance between 6 and 10 working days. There will be no charge for cancellation made 10 or more working days before the event. Notifications should be made to OSDU@strath.ac.uk A department is welcome to send someone else in your place if they wish without incurring a charge, providing that person has the necessary pre-requisites for the course. In the case of courses split over more than one day, you must attend ALL parts of the course. If you fail to attend any part you will be charged as outlined above. *This is the standard charge for cancellation or non-attendance of course of 1 days duration or less. For some courses there may be a higher cancellation charge and if this is the case you will be advised of this at the time of booking. **Any bookings made within 10 days of the event will incur the charges as specified.
