This workshop has been developed by the Centre for Sustainable Development and aims to support researchers to understand the fundamental principles of ethical and equitable partnerships for research.

During a live online session, participants will first hear from experts on the principles of ethical and equitable partnerships. They will then, through a series of case studies, explore the pitfalls commonly experienced, the perspectives of local and international partners, and how they can consider and implement good practice in current and future engagements.

Several available tools and strategies will be suggested in order to develop and support activities beyond the session.

Following the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the underlying principles and markers of good practice in ethical and equitable partnerships.
  • Understand the value of ethical and equitable partnerships in research and how these can help to more effectively address complex and wicked problems
  • Identify further training needs and access the range of guidance and support for developing and implementing learning in future research.
