Target Audience: Any staff who are responsible for communicating feedback to students

Feedback is any information, process or activity that accelerates student learning. It can be verbal, or written, or take other forms. Following the submission of formative assessment or summative assessment activities.

Regardless of how feedback is provided, the goal should always be to enhance or improve student learning. To be effective, however, feedback must be picked up, read, and acted on by students

In this STEP workshop, you will learn a few simple strategies for communicating the value of feedback to your students. You will reflect on the ways in which feedback is given, the impact of feedback on your students and some of the barriers that may prevent your students engaging more fully with feedback. You will then consider how this engagement can be enhanced through simple communication tools like feedback maps and feedback agreements.
