Target Audience: All staff, including Academic and Professional Services
Young Strathclyder is the University’s new widening access programme which will offer engagement and reward for pupils throughout the learner journey. Working with pupils from primary school level upwards, the programme will raise awareness of higher education, support attainment, and offer exciting learning opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The new strategy will build upon our current successes, knowledge and networks. It will incorporate and expand the Accelerate Programme and build upon our previous primary school programme, Children’s University, which recently ended after our partner (Children’s University Scotland) ceased delivery.
Coordinated by the Access, Equality and Inclusion Service, the programme aims to involve colleagues and students from across the Faculties and Professional Services. We are holding two consultation workshops to seek views and ideas as we develop the first phase of the programme.
Please come along to learn more about Young Strathclyder and feed into our planning. We would love to hear from you if you are already in engaging in activities with schools and young people, have an idea for activities or simply want to get involved.
