Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: All staff
This 1.5-hour course is an introduction to the topic of Microbehaviours.
Microbehaviours, micro-aggressions and micro-affirmations describe the small ways in which we interact with eachother – some positive, some negative, some neutral – which can either make people feel excluded and ignored or valued and included.
These can be informed by individual biases, prominent stereotypes, power dynamics, and the environment we grew up in. In this session, we will explore Microbehaviours, their causes, how to manage micro-aggressions, and how to foster an inclusive environment at Strathclyde by promoting micro-affirmations.
We will also use case studies and interactive activities to explore these themes further.
This session is open to all university staff members.
