This is a live in-person event. 

Join us for an expert panel discussion of the key priorities for enhancing and embedding a culture of research integrity in UK universities and beyond. 

This is a timely opportunity to hear from and engage with sector experts who are at the heart of work to promote and support research integrity in the UK and globally.

The session will explore future directions and priorities in relation to research culture, integrity, ethics and responsible research assessment, with talks from:

  • James Parry, Chief Executive, UK Research Integrity Office (UKRIO)
  • Dr Cristina Douglas, Researcher, Ethics Governance in Scottish Universities project
  • Professor Miles Padgett, UK Committee on Research Integrity (UKCORI) Committee Member
  • Dr Elizabeth Gadd, Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) Steering Board Vice-Chair and INORMS Research Evaluation Group Chair.

The event will be introduced by Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, and will be followed by a free networking lunch.

Whether you are an experienced research leader or an early-career researcher, this event will be an excellent opportunity to better understand the ‘big picture’ when it comes to practices, expectations and plans around research integrity and culture in the UK.

Course Outcomes/ Objectives:

Participating in this event will enable you to  

  • get to know more about the various organisations involved in research integrity & culture in the UK; 
  • better understand some of the drivers of integrity and culture developments in UK Higher Education; and 
  • learn more about the potential directions that research integrity & culture expectations and practices may be going into in the future.
