Target Audience: Staff involved in Doctoral Student Supervision

The concept of Research Integrity is central to doctoral supervision, with the supervisor often positioned as role model and mentor for their postgraduate researchers. You will be encouraged to reflect upon and share your specific disciplinary priorities as we explore the role of the supervisor for Research Integrity, in terms of both quality of research and the research culture or environment where that work is done. We will discuss ways to manage the challenges inherent in the supervisor’s role as well as the opportunities to model good practice

  • Deepen understanding of research integrity in practice and how your role as supervisor supports this
  • Strategies for supervision to support PGRs and the supervisor with respect to research integrity and misconduct
  •  Reflection on research practice and disciplinary challenges and concerns in order to identify priority topics for your supervisory practice
  • Signposting support and relevant policies that define and support your supervisory practice in this area
