His interdisciplinary research and teaching focus on indigenous cultures in Latin America and their engagement with the natural world. Charles is also a Quondam Fellow of Hughes Hall (University of Cambridge), and member of the UK Young Academy

Charles will focus on his approach to integrating notions of sustainability into his new course, Latin America through Indigenous Eyes, which is offered to third- and final-year Hispanic Studies students. He will offer a brief overview of the different modules, explaining how sustainability is embedded into the course content, before opening up a discussion and invitation for cross-Faculty collaboration.
