Target Audience: All Staff / Managers and Supervisors
We are delighted to invite you to join us for an online awareness session to celebrate Carers Week 2023
This event is open to all colleagues; however we would extend a particular welcome to anyone who has supervisory or managerial responsibilities as part of their role.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support. We want to celebrate and raise awareness of our Strathclyde Carer Colleagues by having a session where we will:
- Re-launch our carers policy (HR colleague)
- Hear some lived experience testimony with a focus on the importance of having good managerial support (Meg Masson)
- Have an opportunity to chat and discuss and explore the issues our carers face
Our caring community often go unsung and un-noticed and we hope this event will start to change that and highlight the important role our carer colleagues play, often very much at their own expense. You may be a manager or a colleague of a carer here at Strathclyde and not even be aware - so why not sign up for this session and help support and raise awareness of our amazing carers.
