Target Audience: This course is suitable only for PGR students registered in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

This workshop will look at the best approaches to making your research accessible for wider audiences, including the general public, policy makers and practitioners. We will consider how public engagement as a practice can help to develop the depth and purpose of your own work.

This workshop will outline the best ways to identify potential research users and detail the process of ‘translating’ research findings in an accessible manner for a range of audiences.

It will then offer some ‘hints and tips’ on preparing to speak about your research to the general public, along with an optional simulation of a public forum where participants can practice presenting their research clearly and effectively.
