Workshop 1 - What can gen A.I. do and why does it matter?

Mini-programme of workshops will provide staff with an opportunity to explore key aspects of this issue, access useful perspectives and resources, and share ideas and experiences with colleagues

Facilitated by Education Enhancement and OSDU, we will be running a Mini-programme of workshops exploring the impact of generative-AI on learning, teaching, and assessment at Strathclyde.

The workshops will run over a period of four weeks and feature activities and resources to help staff understand and engage with generative-AI within their own context and practice. The workshops will cover what generative-AI can do, how it might feature in learning and teaching activities, how it might influence assessment redesign, and how students can be supported to develop their own understanding and use of generative-AI tools.

Each workshop will last 90 mins, will be interactive, and will involve a short preparatory activity to be completed in advance. Workshops will be delivered on campus with an option to join online. Micro-CPD type summaries with activities and resources will be published on the day following the workshop and made available to all staff.

Course Outcomes/ Objectives;

  • To provide a space and time for colleagues to reflect on the opportunities and challenges developments in Generative Artificial Intelligence present to staff and students at Strathclyde.
  • To facilitate the sharing of expert advice, useful resources, and examples of effective practice.
  • To provide a staff with an opportunity to share ideas, questions, and concerns with colleagues
