Target Audience: Department Safety Coordinators, technicians and staff with responsibility for maintenance of department facilities.

Asbestos awareness is intended to give workers and supervisors information to make them aware of the dangers, the different materials it has been used in, locations where they are more likely to find asbestos containing materials that could be disturbed during their work and emergency procedures should any asbestos be identified or disturbed.

Learning Outcomes:

To provide an overview of where asbestos may be present, the health risks from exposure to asbestos, how to keep yourself safe and how the University manages its asbestos containing materials.
