Target Audience: Staff members who intend to apply for ESRC IAA funding

This is an on-campus course.

This two-part series of interactive workshops will be for those planning to apply to the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) scheme in spring 2024 (submission deadline: 17th April 2024). 

The workshops will provide more information and tips on how to apply for the call, before you work on your own proposal and will have an opportunity for feedback and peer review. 

Session 1 – Getting Started 

This session will provide an overview of the ESRC IAA aims and objectives, the available funding opportunities, and hints and tips for filling out the application form.  

You will hear from previously supported IAA Impact Champions and the commercialisation team.

After this session, you will take time to develop your proposal before attending the second session. 

Session 2 – Finishing your Proposal 

During this session, you will gain an understanding of the review process and have an opportunity to peer-review applications, get feedback on your proposal and develop it further. 

Course Outcomes/Objectives:

Through participating in this workshop series, you will gain: 

  • Knowledge of the ESRC IAA aims and objectives and funding opportunities. 
  •  An understanding of what makes a good ESRC IAA application. 
  •  Support and advice from colleagues across the University. 
  •  An opportunity for peer review/feedback on your proposal.

Cancellation Policy 

When applying for a course, you should note that there will be a £50* charge to your Department / School if you do not attend your place on the course. There will be no charge as long as you cancel your booked place before the event or notify our staff at osdu@strath.ac.uk that you can no longer attend.

A Department / School is welcome to send someone else in your place if they wish without incurring a charge, providing that person has the necessary prerequisites for the course. In the case of courses split over more than one day, you are expected to attend ALL parts of the course.

*This is the standard charge for cancellation or non-attendance of a course of 1-day duration or less. For some courses, there may be a higher cancellation charge and if this is the case you will be advised of this at the time of booking.
