Target Audience: Staff (Academic & Professional Services)

During the course of this workshop, we will achieve the following aims.

  • raise awareness of the barriers to learning that autistic may face
  • inform you about the support and equipment available on campus
  • support you think about what you can to do minimise or remove barriers to learning for autistic students

This workshop is an introduction to neurodiversity and particularly, autism. This interactive session will combine presentation, discussion and exercises using case studies.

The workshop will take two hours with a short break in the middle. Slides will be made available to participants. If you have any access requirements, please contact Andy Grace Edwards (a.edwards@strath.ac.uk)

The workshop will be held in person within the Disability & Wellbeing Service (although we hope to run a online version in the future). We are based on the fourth floor of the Learning & Teaching Building, in the Mary Dunn Wing. There is level access from Rottenrow and lift access from the ground floor entrance on Richmond Street.

Tea & Coffee will be provided.

This workshop is part of two workshops being held to mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week (18th - 24th March 2024). You can also book in for Supporting Neurodiverse Students (ADHD).
