Breaking the Ice Ceiling: Lessons from Antarctica on Equality, Sustainability and Leadership

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, join us for a lunchtime seminar on Antarctica, inclusive leadership and tackling global sustainability challenges!

In November 2023, Strathclyders Stephanie Ordonez, Wendy Pring and Maria Weikum participated in a three-week ship voyage to the Antarctic peninsula, as part of the international leadership initiative Homeward Bound.

Travelling with a cohort of more than a hundred female and non-binary professionals with a passion for STEMM, the trip explored not only Antarctic science and climate change but also broader topics of sustainability, collective leadership, collaboration and equality & inclusion.

Come along to hear more about Wendy’s, Maria’s and Stephanie’s journey as they share some of their impressions, take-aways and key lessons from the voyage.

The session will offer a series of short presentations from each speaker before there will be time for questions and further discussion.
