    To celebrate International Woman’s Day the university has invited Dr Fiona O’Donoghue (GP) to host an event on Woman’s Wellbeing.

Target Audience: All Staff

Looking specifically at health aspects particular to woman with practical tips about how you can maximise physical and psychological wellbeing. The presentation will look at a wide variety of wellbeing issues affecting woman including sleep, anxiety management and hormonal factors.

The session will also take a particular look at how to influence our general physical and mental health and how you can manage some of the commoner problems that may cause difficulties in coping with your workplace commitments and your career progression. Dr Fiona will speak about some specific medical issues and how lifestyle management and medication can help and will try to unravel some of the myths around the menopause and talk about ways to promote long term health.

There will be a question-and-answer session at the end of the presentation.

Dr Fiona O’Donoghue is a GP and menopause specialist who has worked in the NHS for over 25 years. She graduated from Queens University Belfast in 1991 and worked in Belfast before moving to work in Australia. She returned to Glasgow to complete GP training and has been here ever since. She worked in the first dedicated menopause clinic in the UK, incorporating clinical work with menopause research. (You can follow Dr Fiona on Instagram @menopausemedicglasgow)

This event held in person on campus with refreshments provided and the opportunity to network with colleagues. We are running two events with the second session being held early in the morning to give our cleaning colleagues the opportunity to attend.
