Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: Staff
The aim of this session is to enable participants to create effective image alternatives that ensure digital content is accessible to users who rely on assistive technologies like screen readers. Writing appropriate alt text and describing complex images is essential to making visual content accessible to all users.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Explain the role of image alternatives in accessibility
- Write effective alt text for simple images
- Apply best practices for describing complex images
This session will focus on key principles, rather than platform-specific implementations. However, the considerations discussed can be applied regardless of platform.
These "Accessibility in brief" sessions provide a solid foundation to the techniques applied in our practical "Accessibility in practice" sessions.
