Are you a University of Strathclyde student struggling with anxiety? Join our "Anxiety Busters: Navigate Anxiety with CBT tools" workshop and take control of your mental wellbeing! This comprehensive four-week program, hosted by the Disability and Wellbeing Department, is designed to help you navigate the challenges of student life. In these weekly one-hour sessions, you'll get an understanding of what anxiety is and get some CBT techniques to manage the physical symptoms, build healthy routine and challenge thinking traps.

Starting Monday, March 10th, 2025, at 12:30 PM, this in-person group will meet for 4 consecutive Mondays. Students must commit to attending all 4 scheduled sessions. We recognize that various aspects of your life—such as your lifestyle, work, studies, relationships, and past experiences can significantly influence your overall wellbeing. These 1-hour sessions will provide you tools to explore your worries and general anxiety about student life. You will learn CBT techniques to manage such problems and cope with the anxiety.


Here is an overview of the weeks:
Week 1 – Introduction and Understanding anxiety.
Week 2 – Learning Ways to increase your calm.
Week 3 – Reframing your thoughts.
Week 4 – Making a plan to move forward.


The sessions will be facilitated by Fiona Rae & Manisha Gosar. They are experienced Counsellors working within the Disability & Wellbeing Team at the University.
The course starts 10th February 2025 at 12:30 for an hour. Students must commit to attending all 4 scheduled sessions. If you find this is of interest, reserve your place here.

Prerequisites

You must be able to attend in person, preferably all 4 sessions. Booking a session then cancelling or not showing prevents others from obtaining a place so please only book if you will be able to attend.
