Target Audience: Open to anyone but not suitable for those currently experiencing post traumatic symptoms requiring medical oversight

Welcome to the 'all about trauma' workshop, a six-week program looking at what trauma is, what trauma treatment looks like, and the Herman method of trauma treatment used in NHS services; Safety and Stabilisation, trauma processing, recovery and reintegration. We will also look the different types of traumas, and the different types of trauma treatment such as EMDR, TF-CBT and NET. This is a psychoeducational program designed to educate and inform people interested in trauma and being more trauma informed. 

If you have been effected by trauma in the past and are curious about the effects, or if you are juist curious. Or if you are interested in finding out more about what trauma treatment lookis like, including ways to minimise some of the effects of trauma, this workshop is for you. If you are currently receiving treatment for trauma or complex trauma, or are awaiting treatment for complex trauma, this workshop probably isnt for you.

Prerequisites

The only prerequisite is for you to make an informed and honest choice about whether this is an appropriate workshop for you. During the workshop, we will discuss different types of traumatic events and how these events have an impacts on us. If you are a survivor of trauma and/or currently living with PTSD or CPTSD, it's important to recognize this is a public space , we will discuss topics that may be triggering, and depending on where you are on your recovery journey, this may not be the right workshop to attend. If you are unsure, please email sean.mccann@strath.ac.uk and we can discuss this prior to attending the workshop.
