Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: All Staff - all genders welcome, particularly male colleagues
This will be a powerful and thought provoking session looking at Men's Health. We will hear from two local charities – Cahonas (Testicular Cancer Awareness) and Prostate Scotland.
We will also hear from two colleagues who are lived experience survivors of cancer who will share their testimony and experience with you.
Statistics show that men are less likely to go to their GP and seek support – when we know early detection is so important for a positive prognosis. So we hope this session will help to raise awareness around the prevalence of these cancers, signs, and symptoms to be aware of and encourage self-testing and early medical support,
Please come along and encourage your colleagues to come too – there will be a chance before the presentation to grab a hot breakfast roll and a tea or coffee. Please note this event is for staff of all genders – not just male colleagues. The issues being discussed on the day are important to all of us (particularly around signs, symptoms and early detection of cancer) and will allow you to support male family members and colleagues – so everybody is welcome.
