Target Audience: All Staff and Students
This course aims to build the knowledge, skills and motivation required to take meaningful action on climate change. In doing so it seeks to ensure graduates understand and advocate the need for systems level change, and are capable of driving climate change action through their workplace and other organisational settings. These skills and characteristics are becoming essential for supervisory, management or directorial roles, whether as part of paid or voluntary work.
On completing this module, by understanding how take effective action on climate change, students will contribute to broader efforts to achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets, including those set by the Scottish government to seeking a 76% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and becoming 100% (Net Zero) by 2045. They will also contribute to action on SDG’s 10 (Reducing Inequality), 12 (Responsible Production and Consumption), and 13 (Climate Action).
