Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: All Staff / Line Managers and Supervisors
We are delighted to invite you to join us for an online awareness session focused on understanding and supporting colleagues with caring responsibilities.
This event is open to all colleagues; however, we extend a particular welcome to anyone with managerial or supervisory responsibilities as part of their role.
Many employees balance their work with caring responsibilities, whether for a family member, friend, or loved one. This session aims to raise awareness of the challenges unpaid carers face, recognise their contributions, and highlight the support available to them.
During the session, we will:
- Help colleagues understand who carers are and the different people they may care for
- Share lived experience testimonies and feedback from Strathclyde carers, highlighting both the support they have benefitted from and the challenges they encounter at work and home
- Explore ways in which carers can be supported at work, including through our Carers Policy
- Provide an opportunity to chat, discuss key points, and answer any questions
As a socially progressive organisation, we are committed to ensuring that our employees who balance work with caring responsibilities have the support they need.
You may be a manager or a colleague of a carer and want to better understand the challenges they face and how you can support them in the workplace. So why not sign up for this session and help us raise awareness and support our amazing carers?
