Target Audience: Postdocs
This is an online - one off workshop
Publishing your work is a core part of a successful research career. Getting a paper into print requires a significant time investment and draws on a range of skills: collaborative writing, figure design, analysis and concise communication. With over 30,000 journals to choose from, researchers need a clear publishing strategy that fits their field, career stage and goals.
Academic publishing is evolving. This workshop introduces participants to the editorial process, realistic timeframes, journal selection, peer review, metrics and the legal considerations that shape how and where research can be shared.
Peer review is something every researcher encounters, both as an author submitting work and as an expert asked to evaluate someone else's. The workshop covers how the peer review system works, its complexities, the responsibilities on each side of the process and how to make the experience as productive as possible.
Sessions include group discussions, individual exercises and examples drawn directly from the instructor's own publishing experience.
