Is this course right for me?
Target Audience: PGRs
This course is designed for postgraduate researchers who already have some experience with academic speaking but want to improve their delivery, presence and impact. The course focuses on refining delivery style, enhancing storytelling techniques and managing complex content with clarity. Participants will explore how to structure persuasive presentations for academic and non-academic audiences, adapt to different settings (conferences, panels, interviews) and handle audience questions with confidence. Practical strategies for engaging audiences, using visuals effectively and managing nerves will be covered, alongside constructive peer feedback.
By the end, researchers will have a clearer sense of their own presentation strengths and areas for development, and greater confidence in delivering their research to a range of academic and professional audiences.
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
- Applied advanced presentation techniques to deliver research content clearly and persuasively;
- Adapted their delivery style for different formats and academic contexts
- Critically reflected on personal presentation strengths and areas for development
