This practical session helps researchers manage the administrative demands of academic work more efficiently. It covers strategies for taming an overloaded inbox, writing clear and purposeful emails and planning and leading more effective meetings.

The session also introduces useful digital tools for scheduling, task management and information tracking, with a focus on improving day-to-day productivity. Designed for busy researchers, this course offers practical techniques to streamline the operational side of research and free up time for focused work.

 

By the end of the workshop participants will have:

  • Apply practical strategies to manage email workload and reduce inbox stress
  • Plan and participate in meetings with greater purpose and efficiency
  • Identify digital tools to support task management and communication

PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).

You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).

Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
