Target Audience: PGRs
This session aims to help students manage anxiety and build social resilience. It covers strategies for both advising on and implementing anxiety management and the building of social resilience. We do not claim to be able to take away all anxiety, but will provide coping mechanisms to challenge negative thoughts, set realistic goals and practice assertiveness.
By the end of the workshop you will have:
- Understood effective communication techniques
- Learned to manage rejection and criticism constructively
- Developed techniques on resilience and mental toughness
- Learned to set boundaries and prioritise self-care

All postgraduate research students are eligible to access the Researcher Development Programme workshops. This workshop can contribute towards the PG Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).
You can find credit and class information in the Researcher Development Programme Handbook and in NEPTUNE (Engineering, HaSS) or SPIDER (Science).
Please check with your department or Supervisor to confirm if you are enrolled on the PG Cert RPD and how many credits you are expected to achieve if you are unsure.
