Target Audience: All Staff

Join us for a meaningful morning as we launch our new Fertility Leave policy.

 

We will also be covering and highlighting the support available via our Pregnancy and Baby Loss Policy and our Bereavement & Compassionate Leave Policy which covers the provision of Parental Bereavement Leave.

 

This special event will feature powerful guest speakers sharing their lived experiences and a representative from SiMBA Charity, who will raise awareness about their vital work supporting families affected by baby loss.

  • 9:00 – 9:05 Welcome & Introductions
  • 9:05 – 9:15 IVF lived experience – Charlotte Cannon (Director SWR)
  • 9:15 – 9:30 Baby loss lived experience – Heather Lawrence (University of Edinburgh)
  • 9:30 – 9:45 SiMBA Charity – raising awareness around baby loss – Sarah Pryde-Smith
  • 9:45 – 10:00 Policy launch & overview of support available
  • 10:00 – 10:30 Breakfast networking

This event is open to all staff, and we especially encourage male colleagues to attend. These experiences and the support we provide touch everyone, partners, families, friends, and teams, not only women.

 

After the session, we warmly invite everyone to stay for breakfast networking, a relaxed opportunity to connect over a cuppa and a breakfast roll, share reflections, and show support for one another.

This is an opportunity to learn, show solidarity, and help foster a culture of care and understanding across our University community.
