Target Audience: All Academics and Research staff interested in applying for Horizon Europe Pillar II calls, with a special focus on Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy and Mobility)

This two-part event, hosted by the International Team in RKES, will be delivered by Conall McGinley, the UK National Contact Point for Energy (Horizon Europe). Conall brings a wealth of experience and insight, making this a great opportunity for you to get practical, tailored advice, explore funding and collaboration opportunities, and ask questions directly to someone who understands the Horizon Europe landscape. Here is what the sessions will cover:

 

PART 1: Getting Started with Horizon Europe (Book Part 1 through the booking system)

Duration: 1 hour (13.00 - 14.00)
Audience: Open to all participants

This session will provide a practical overview of Horizon Europe support mechanisms and proposal development. Topics include:

  • The Role of National Contact Points (NCPs): What they do and how they can help you.
  • General Guidance on Proposal Development: Key strategies for successful applications, including aligning with EU policies, building strong consortia, engaging stakeholders, and leveraging networking opportunities and resources (e.g., COST).

NB: This session is not a walkthrough of the application form but will offer valuable insights and best practices for preparing competitive proposals.

 

30-minute break follows

 

PART 2: Deep Dive – Cluster 5 Focus on Energy & Clean Hydrogen

Duration: 1 hour and a half (14.30 - 16.00)

Audiencethis is a smaller, targeted group session dedicated to participants with a specific interest in Cluster 5 topics

This focused session will explore Horizon Europe calls related to Energy and Clean Hydrogen, including:

  • An overview of relevant open and upcoming Cluster 5 calls
  • Insights from a recent mapping exercise and input from participants
  • Opportunities for collaboration through EU partnerships and related initiatives
  • A closer look at selected calls, with space for discussion and Q&A

 

Please note: Participants may choose to attend either or both sessions, depending on their interests.
