This course will introduce the concept of and practices in Public Involvement and Engagement (PIE) in research.

We will signpost participants to some of the more up to date existing guidelines and guidance available from a variety of funders. We will also present some case studies and describe and discuss the challenges of doing ‘Good’ PIE and how to overcome these. We will also present some of the ways in which the PIE group will be helping Strathclyde students and staff to create more meaningful and inclusive PIE in our research as socially progressive university.
